The design of Laksham Residence follows a modern contemporary language layered with warmth, texture, and subtle luxury. The spatial layout emphasizes openness and visual continuity, allowing different functional zones—living, circulation, and transitional spaces—to flow naturally into one another.
Natural light, vertical proportions, and material contrast have been carefully balanced to create an interior that feels both refined and inviting. The use of stone, wood, and soft textiles ensures durability while maintaining a calm, residential character suited for everyday living.
Design Intent / Mood
The primary intent was to create a home that feels calm, grounded, and quietly elegant. The mood is serene and composed, with an emphasis on comfort rather than overt opulence.
Double-height spaces, indoor greenery, and layered lighting introduce a sense of openness and softness, while darker stone surfaces and structured elements add depth and visual stability. The overall atmosphere is warm and contemporary, designed to feel timeless rather than trend-driven.
Material & Finishes
- Wall Finishes: Combination of smooth neutral paint, textured stone panels, and vertical wooden slats to introduce rhythm and depth.
- Flooring: Polished light-toned marble flooring for the main areas, enhancing brightness and spatial continuity.
- Ceiling: Gypsum false ceiling with recessed detailing, wooden inlays, and concealed cove lighting to define zones subtly.
- Staircase: Marble treads with minimal metal railing, paired with accent lighting for visual emphasis.
- Furniture & Upholstery: Soft fabric sofas in neutral tones with layered cushions; metal and stone used for center tables and accent pieces.
- Soft Furnishings: Full-height curtains in sheer and blackout fabric combinations, adding softness and controlling natural light.
